　　Greek weightlifter Leonidas Sampanis was stripped of his bronze medal on Sunday, and expelled from the Olympics for a doping offence, another embarrassment for the host nation.

　　由于在药检终呈阳性，希腊药检运动员莱昂尼达斯-桑帕尼斯周日被剥夺了他获得的铜牌并被逐出了本次奥运会。这也是东道主希腊在本次奥运会开赛以后遭遇的又一次尴尬。

　　I.O.C. Spokesperson, Giselle Davies made the official announcement.

　　国际奥委会的新闻发言人吉赛拉-戴维斯对此事做了官方声明。

　　"I can announce to you this morning that Mr Leonidas Sampanis has been excluded from the games of Athens 2004 after failing an anti-doping test carried out by the I.O.C. "

　　On Sunday, the tearful Sampanis protest his innocence to the media, said that he never tested positive in a drug test before and wouldn't do such crazy things at the Games.

　　在星期天的时候，桑帕尼斯含着泪水向媒体表达了自己的清白。他表示，自己在之前的兴奋剂检查中从来都没有呈阳性过，他根本没必要在奥运会上作出这么疯狂的事情。

　　32 years old Sampanis tested positive twice at excessive levels of testosterone. Doctors established that the testosterone came from outside the body.

　　32岁的桑帕尼斯在进行药检的时候，两瓶尿样都呈阳性。而医生则表示，在睾丸激素的检测中，明显表现出桑帕尼斯服用过相应的违禁药。

　　Any other sanctions, including a ban, will be decided by the International Weightlifting Federation.
